MyGlam Bag! February 2012

23 Feb

My second Glam Bag has finally arrived, phew, that was an extended wait. Last month I received my Glam Bag very quickly because I live on the west coast, but this month the shipped all the west coast bags last with intentions of everyone receiving their bag at the same time. Yeah, not so much lol.

Here is what I received this month:

  • Freeman Facial Hydration Mask in Goji Berry
  • Premier Dead Sea Cinderella Mask and Eye Cream
  • X Out Shine Control
  • NYX Roll on Shimmer in Light Blue
  • NuMe $100 Gift Certificate
  • Ghirardelli Chocolate Squares
  • Valentine’s themed makeup bag

The item I’m most excited about is the X Out Shine Control. It’s an oil-free moisturizer that controls shine and keeps your skin matte. My face gets shiny as frick, so this is a perfect product for me to try. Plus, it’s a very generous sized sample so I’ll get many uses out of it.

The NYX shimmer is very pretty, but I don’t normally wear much light blue. I always feel like I’ll leave the house looking like Mimi from the Drew Carey Show if I opt for blue shadow.

I’m disappointed in the size of the Premier samples, I wish they were much larger. Skincare samples really need to be sized generously so you can get a good idea from multiple uses if they will work for you. I’m also disappointed about receiving another Freeman mask. I like the mask itself, but I got a freeman mask last month. I sign up for sample services to try new brands and products.

The bag is adorable and will probably become my next purse makeup bag. And of course the chocolate was  enjoyable :)

I’m on the fence about the NuMe gift certificate. Yes $100 is a very good discount, but their products seem to be massively inflated in price. I’m also kind of bothered that I’ve seen a ton of NuMe “deals” on LivingSocial, Groupon, etc. So heavy discounts is really a normal marketing tactic for them, which makes the $100 certificate seem less valuable. I’m still considering using it to pickup a flat iron but I want to scour the internet for some reviews of the brand’s products first.

For $10 per month, I’m pretty satisfied with what I received. If you want to sign up for a Glam Bag, you can head over to :)

I just heard about this subscription just the other day. I wish I signed up before they stopped accepting new subs. But the goodies look nice!
