GogoGirlfriend! December 2011

23 Dec

UPDATE (2/9/12): I cancelled my GoGoGirlfriend subscription on 1/31/12. I can no longer recommend subscribing to this company. I will leave my GGG posts up as a reference, but sign up at your own risk. See my GoGoGirlfriend post for more details.

Okay, so I don’t really know if I should call this my November or December GogoGirlfriend box because this thing was seriously delayed. I will list the products I received and post my box photos, then I’ll go into the explanation of my disappointment this month.

What I received:

  • Blossoms Natural Mineral Eyeshadow – Dreamy Girl
  • Camille Beckman 5 Piece Gift Set
  • Crystal Essence Pomegranate Deodorant Towelette
  • Dolce & Gabbana Fragrance Light Blue Vial
  • E.L.F. Smudge Brush
  • OluvFresh Face & Body Natural Scrub

So here’s the deal. They charged my credit card on November 15th and I didn’t receive my box until December 17th. Yeah, a full month between payment and delivery. Pretty ridic if you ask me. I think they got overwhelmed with new members and couldn’t keep up with shipments. On top of that, I was supposed to get an ELF crease brush and what I received as a defective ELF smudge brush. The bristles were loose and many had fallen out. I emailed them about this and they immediately sent out a replacement brush, which I thought was very nice and accomodating of them.

Nevertheless, I’m going to cash in my GGG points to pay for my next box, and after that I’m probably going to cancel the subscription. Honestly, the delayed delivery is not what is driving me to cancel. I can understand that they were overwhelmed with orders. I really just haven’t been that pleased with the stuff they’ve been sending me. The first box I loved, but every box thereafter has been a bit disappointing. They send the same brands in every box which bothers me. I like these sampler services to try NEW things. They also send out a lot of $1 items which irks me because I’m paying $12.99 for the thing. I will say, however, that the two times I’ve had to contact  customer service have been excellent. They respond to my emails within the hour and have been very accomodating. I’m hoping they improve the quality of their samples and service overall, because I’d love to see them be a front runner in the world of beauty subscriptions.

I just joined — I was billed around when you were and received my box the same time. Are they always this slow? I’m sort of debating if it’s worth remaining a member. :(

Lol yeah, it seems like an ongoing battle. They said they were backed up with shipping orders due to the holidays, but I think they really got an overload of members and became overwhelmed. The plus side is, whenever I’ve emailed them about anything, they are always super helpful and nice. I’m probably going to cancel within a month or two just due to shipping/lack of samples I’m interested in.

Chelsey, so Im trying to determine when gogo charges your cc. Is it always after your current box ships, or have they ever charged you before your box actually sends?

I want to cancel after the box ships and before my credit card gets charged again, but with how terrible they are, Im worried no matter what Ill end up having to fight the charge trying to cancel. They are awful! I tried to see if I could delete my card from the website profile, nope. So instead I changed my credit card zip code and exp date to some random number in hopes it will cause the card to decline.

GGG is notorious for charging your credit card upward of 4-5 weeks before your box is even shipped. It’s one of the main reasons so many girls are cancelling their subscription. Providing incorrect CC info was a clever idea! You may want to email them with your concerns and plans to cancel future shipments, they are usually very responsive to emails.
