A shocking turn of events! I LOVED my Birchbox this month :) It came with a few things that I’ve been dying to try and I definitely feel like it was $10 well spent.
My September 2012 Birchbox:
- BVLGARI Mon Jasmin Noir
- Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse Beauty Balm SPF 25+
- LiQWd Professional Volumizing Catalyst
- LiQWd Volumizing Shampoo/Conditioner
- Birchbox and Color Club® Custom Collection Nail Polish in Insta-This
- twistband™ Lace up for Fall
The star of the show for me was the BB cream sample. Dr. Jart Silver Label is my holy grail BB cream, but I’ve never gotten a chance to try anything else from the line. I must say that I don’t care for the Water Fuse version as much as the Silver Label. It’s much more sheer, on par with an everyday tinted moisturizer. I love the Silver Label because it gives the coverage of a foundation. I would wear Water Fuse to the gym or underneath my Studio Fix Powder when I’m having a “good skin day”.
The LiQWd shampoo and conditioner were nice, but they cost $24 each and that is WAY more than I’m willing to spend on something that gets washed down the drain. Don’t get me wrong, there is plenty of crap I splurge on, but shampoo and conditioner has never been one of them. The volumzing spray I loved. I found it to noticeable volumize my hair just by spraying it on when damp and letting it air dry (I rarely ever blow dry).
The polish was a cute little addition to the box. I’m not crazy about the color by itself but it would be adorable underneath some metallic glitter.
The perfume was kind of strong and it gave me headache. I’ll toss it into my endless black hole of once-sprayed perfume sample vials. The twistband I thought was SO cute. I loved the other twistbands from my previous Birchboxes so I was happy to get one in a cute pattern.
