Swatches: Revlon Lip Butters

2 Dec

I’m sure 99% of you are sick of all the Revlon Lip Butter hoopla, am I right? Lol well, I recently surrendered to the almighty lip butter Gods! These things really are awesome and actually DO live up to the hype. The only frustrating thing is finding them. Every display of these that I’ve found has been so incredibly picked over. I was lucky enough to grab these 3 shades at CVS, which are 3 of the 4 that I wanted! I still need to find Peach Parfait but so far I have: Creamsicle, Sugar Frosting and Strawberry Shortcake.

My favorite thing about these Lip Butters is how they apply. They are super creamy and highly pigmented (even the lighter colors) and they leave a subtle sheen/glossy finish. They leave my lips feeling hydrated, smooth and kissable. The only other lip product that I could compare them to are the Cremesheen Lipsticks by MAC. They leave a similar finish and both have a creamy texture.

The packaging is cute, I like the quilted plastic cap. The following is the shade order in all photos:
From left to right – Creamsicle, Sugar Frosting, Strawberry Shortcake

Creamsicle and Sugar Frosting are both neutral, everyday shades. I have been wearing Creamsicle underneath a baby pink gloss and a wearable nude lip. Strawberry Shortcake is my most favorite shade of pink to wear on the lips. I really have trouble with highly pigmented pinks, but the undertones of this one are perfect for me. I have trouble wearing MAC’s Creme Cup because of the blue undertones. If you’re fair and already have naturally pigmented lips, you will probably love Strawberry Shortcake.

Did any of you pick up some Lip Butters? What are your favorite shades – any suggestions for me? Thanks!

Disclaimer: These were purchased by me with my own money.

They are heavenly :) Strawberry Shortcake is my favorite. They are actually tasteless and scentless.
