Review and Swatches: Stila Breathtaking Beauty Palette

16 Feb

Today I’m going to delve into my first ever Stila palette, oh how exciting :D I’ve been obsessed with Stila’s lip glaze collection for a few years now, but have never tried anything else from the brand. They sent me a 20% off coupon code for following them on twitter, so I perused their website for something to catch my eye.

Obviously, the Breathtaking Beauty Palette is the lucky little number that caught my eye. It’s a great value – lip glaze, lip/cheek color, face shimmer and 6 eye shadows for only $25. This is one of the palettes from the E! Live From the Red Carpet editions.

My first impression: “Oh, it’s small.” Ha, I just imagined the palette itself being bigger from the photos. Very cute though, love the illustrations. But when I flipped it over, I saw the icky “Made in China” declaration. Blah. I tend to have bad experiences with China-made cosmetics.

But after swatching everything, I’m happy with the quality and pigments of the shadows. The convertible lip/cheek color is super pretty too. The only shadow I’m not crazy about is one of the base shades, Cinema. It’s just too flesh-colored for me. I could probably use it as concealer if I really wanted to lol. I adore the lip glaze! The shade is Guava and it tastes amazing. Photos below!
