LashEm – 8 Week Review

18 Dec

I recently documented my results after using an eyelash enchancing product, LashEm, for 8 weeks. LashEm Measurable Difference Lash Gel claims to be a conditioning, lash boosting formula that’s geared towards short, weak and brittle lashes. I don’t have the most unfortunate lashes around, but of course there is always room for improvement. My lashes do tend to get brittle and fall out easily, so I was excited to see if LashEm lived up to it’s claims. Here are the benefits listed on

  • Eyelash boosting formula.
  • Protects your lashes and is designed to help improve the overall condition and appearance of eyelashes.
  • Specifically formulated to deliver essential proteins, vitamins and rejuvenating ingredients that can nourish the structure of lashes, while adding shine and appearance.
  • It is ideal for women and men with brittle, weak, thin or short eyelashes.
  • Helps amplify volume by strengthening and rejuvenating lashes.
  • Helps promote lash flexibility and durability.
  • Adds moisture and shine to lashes and improve elasticity.
  • Can also be used on eyebrow.
  • Great for lash extension users! Help those broken, brittle lashes.

I started applying the LashEm gel on October 25, 2011. I applied it every single night before I went to bed, just as the directions say. My “before” photos were taken on 10/25/11 and my “after” photos were taken 8 weeks later on 12/13/2011.

My lashes definitely feel stronger and softer to the touch than they ever have before. I can actually rub my eyes without any lashes falling out. I feel the conditioning benefit of this lash gel really stands out. They also appear to have slightly increased in length. I don’t know if 8 weeks is enough time to notice a dramatic length difference. I have some new growth growing at the base of my lash line, so I’m definitely on my way to a fuller lash line!

I also tried the LashEm Double Trouble Mascara, which comes with a lengthening brush on one side and a volumizing brush on the other. I’m 99% sure it’s the same mascara formula for each wand. I say that because my lashes did NOT agree with this mascara whatsoever. There is something in the formula (and this happens with a lot of mascaras that I try) that causes my curled lashes to instantly droop. Like, within seconds after applying this mascara, my lashes became completely un-curled and drooperiffic. I don’t know what ingredient causes that reaction from my lashes, but it seems to happen with quite a few different mascaras. It’s unfortunate because I really love the wand for the volumizing end. Here are some photos of the Double Trouble Mascara:

Overall, I’m pretty happy with this product. There is a dramatic improvement to the softness, strength and overall condition of my lashes. I also have very sensitive eyes and this lash gel doesn’t cause any irritation whatsoever. If you’re interested in giving LashEm a try, you can pick it up on They have a holiday gift set on sale right now for $35 which includes the Lash Gel and the mascara. The Gel by itself normally sells for $69.99, so the gift set it a pretty good buy.

I was looking for a decent lash enhancement. I have very short, brittle lashes. When I wear eyeliner with mascara, you can’t see my lashes… that’s how bad it is. Anyway, after a lot of research I found one that was comparable and a decent price. LashEm looks really good too, I can tell by your last pic. I’ve noticed that my bottom lashes are getting longer, top ones are stronger and not coming out as much, and I can use this in thinning spots in my brows and it’s actually filling them in. IDK who started making these products but it’s now a staple in my daily routine!

Which one have you been using Amanda? I also love using lash enhancer on my brows, it really helps when I’m trying to fill in the spots where I overpluck lol.
