My E.L.F. Coffee Break Purchase

27 Feb

I will be the first to admit that I am a total impulse shopper. If a good deal is brought to my attention, I get weak lol. This ELF purchase was completely random, but I am so so so happy with it. ELF had sent me an email advertising a “coffee break” sale that was only 3-hours long. Their gigantic 94-Piece Beauty Collection, which normally sells for $64, was on sale for only $30!

The big seller for me was that the Studio 11 Piece Glitter Brush Collection was included. ELF brushes get amazing reviews, and I had been eyeing some good powder brushes. Needless to day, I was NOT disappointed. These brushes are fabulous! The glittery black handles are adorable and the synthetic bristles are surprisingly nice and soft (for the price I was expecting complete crap, to be honest). The flat powder brush is the star of show. It’s incredibly full and picks up my powders beautifully.

The other item in the deal was the Studio 83 Piece Essential Makeup Collection. This I wasn’t as impressed with. I mean, it’s a nice set, don’t get me wrong. You get 64 eyeshadow colors for cryin’ out loud. But everything else in the collection was a little disappointing. First of all, it’s made in China (womp womp). The blushes are a nice color but they have so much gold fleck in them that they may as well be labeled as bronzer (and very intense  might I add). The glosses irritated my lips. I don’t know why but my lips are sensitive to certain ingredients in some glosses, like I will feel a slight burning sensation and it’s really irritating. Not only that but the gloss tins were very shallow so you’ll only get a few applications of each shade. The shadows are definitely the highlight of the collection.

I still think $30 was an amazing deal. The brush set by itself sells for $30, so I figure I got the 83-piece makeup set for free. Can’t complain about that :)

You and me both, I just can’t refuse a good deal… My head gets all foggy and before I know it I have made a massive purchase. Which is a good reason to not allow myself to go to any big fairs or other occasions that might unleash the feeding frenzy in me…
